In 1993 I first discovered black and white Infrared photography. It is a process where only infrared wavelengths are exposed by the camera. IR photography requires special film and pitch black loading and unloading. It's a lot of work. You need a sunny day to get shots that aren't just grey blobs. And you can't actually see infrared, so you have to guess the focus by using lens markings. I shot about 2 or 3 rolls and called it quits.

That changed when I found out that digital cameras can now do IR photography. And it's even BETTER than IR film. I got an old Nikon Coolpix 995 camera and had Brody at Dezember Photo modify it so that the camera can actually take IR photos. What's even better, the LCD works. Yep, you can actually SEE the shot. No other camera can do that!
